Getting an app back right away
Any one of these works, at any time:
- In the app: tap the floating Need access? button at the bottom of the screen, then Release Away Isles restrictions.
- From the blocked app: on the “A little time away” screen, tap Close, then open Away Isles, then use Need access?.
- From Settings: open Settings → Screen Time → Apps with Screen Time Access and switch Away Isles off. Every restriction lifts at once.
A released session doesn’t earn a lantern, but nothing you earned before is lost.
Never restrict an app you might need for your health, safety, work, school, travel, or emergencies, such as Phone, Messages, Maps, or banking apps. Away Isles is a focus tool, not a safety or parental-control product.
Frequently asked questions
Why does Away Isles ask for Screen Time access?
Screen Time access lets Away Isles restrict only the apps and websites you pick, and only during a focus session. Your choices are kept by Apple on your device. Away Isles can’t see which apps you picked, and nothing about them is sent to us.
Do I need an account?
No. Focus sessions, your island, Breathe, and reminders all work without one. You need an account only for Circles, where you share goals and lanterns with family or friends. You must be 13 or older to create an account.
How do I subscribe to, change, or cancel Away Isles Plus?
Plus renews automatically until you cancel. To change or cancel it, open Settings → [your name] → Subscriptions → Away Isles on your iPhone or iPad, or tap Manage subscription on the Plus screen in the app. Cancel at least 24 hours before your renewal date to avoid the next charge. You keep Plus until the end of the period you paid for. Deleting the app or your account does not cancel a subscription.
How do I get a refund?
All purchases are made through Apple, and only Apple can issue refunds. Request one at reportaproblem.apple.com.
I bought an island or Plus, but it isn’t showing.
Make sure you’re signed in to the App Store with the Apple Account you bought with, then open the Plus screen and tap Restore purchases. Restoring is free.
Is my progress backed up?
Your island and focus history are stored privately on your device and are not included in backups. Deleting the app removes them, and we can’t restore them.
How do Circles and rewards work?
A circle is a small invite-only group of up to 8 people. Members can propose shared focus goals, agree on a reward, and send each other lanterns of encouragement. Rewards are promises between members. Away Isles never buys, pays for, or guarantees a reward.
How do I stop someone from sending me lanterns?
On a lantern you received, tap Block this sender. Their lanterns are hidden and they can’t send you more. You can also turn off receiving lanterns, everywhere or for one circle, or leave the circle. Circle organizers can remove members.
Why didn’t I get a notification?
Check Settings → Notifications → Away Isles, and make sure a Focus mode isn’t silencing it. Circle notifications also need you to be signed in.
Reporting content or a person
We don’t tolerate harassment, hateful or sexual content, or other abuse, and Away Isles filters offensive language out of names, goals, rewards and lantern messages. To report something that gets through, tap Report this lantern on a lantern, Report this goal on a goal, or Report next to a person under a circle’s People tab. This opens an email to us with the details filled in. You can also email support@pingsolveai.com directly with the circle name, the person’s display name, and what they shared (a screenshot is best). We review reports and aim to act within 24 hours, which can include removing content or removing someone from Away Isles. If someone is in danger, contact your local emergency services first.
Deleting your account
In the app, open Account → Delete account, type DELETE, and confirm. This permanently erases your account and circle data from our servers. Read what is deleted and kept in our Privacy Policy. To remove the progress stored on your phone, delete the app too. If you can’t sign in, email us from your account’s email address and we’ll delete it for you.
